Though it may seem counterintuitive, giving employees time to play around on their smartphones every day could actually benefit businesses, new research suggests.

Even though it might seem like smartphones would hamper workplace productivity — thanks to their ability to make telephone calls, surf the Internet and play games — they might not be the costly distraction companies think they are, according to a study by two members of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

Goodbye Windows XP

Here’s a great write up from our friends at TechRepublic regarding the end of life for Microsoft Windows XP on April 8. 2014.  After this date, Microsoft will not release any security patches or updates for Windows XP.  This will effectively make Windows XP non-compliant with HIPAA / HITECH after Microsoft support ends.  The article focuses on organizations in the healthcare arena but if you use XP at home or at your small business, then pay attention.  As always contact Zitro Technology Solutions and ask how we migrate you off of Windows XP.
